Anything Can Be a Paintbrush!
Today, the infants discovered that painting doesn’t always require a traditional paintbrush! We explored painting with corn, using it to make different marks, patterns, and textures on our paper.
The infants enjoyed grasping, dipping, pressing, and moving the corn through the paint while exploring what happened when they experimented in different ways. This experience encouraged the infants to use their senses, creativity, curiosity, and developing fine-motor skills. They were able to explore materials in their own ways and discover that everyday objects can be used in unexpected ways.
NBCF Connection: This experience supports Well-Being and Belonging, as infants were encouraged to explore in a safe and supportive environment. It also connects to Play and Exploration, as the children used curiosity, experimentation, and creativity to discover what the corn could do as a painting tool. Through hands-on exploration, the infants were building confidence as capable and curious learners
