We Love Books!

 A New Adventure at the Book Sale Today, the infants went on an exciting community outing to a book sale! As we explored the space, they experienced a new environment filled with lots of people, sounds, sights, and books. The infants had opportunities to look around, observe the busy world around them, and take in this new experience alongside their educators and friends.

Books surrounded us everywhere we looked, encouraging curiosity and exploration. The adventure continued when we chose some books to bring back to our learning environment, extending the experience and allowing the infants to revisit and enjoy what they discovered.

Connecting to the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework (NBCF): This experience supported the infants as active learners by providing meaningful opportunities to explore their community and engage with new people, places, and materials. The outing encouraged well-being and belonging as the children experienced the world together in a safe and supportive environment.

Exploring books also supported their curiosity, communication, and early literacy, while bringing books back to the centre helped connect their community experience to their ongoing learning. Through experiences like this, we are supporting the children in discovering that learning can happen everywhere—not just inside the classroom!
